Coot Club sits on a lagoon near Stanford, between the Maanschynkop mountains and the Walker Bay Nature Reserve, and is built around time on the water.
There are 3 boathouses, Port, Starboard and Stern, with 2 or 3 bedrooms, alongside the 3 bedroom Lawns cottage and 4 smaller 1 bedroom Leeward units. Fireplaces and wood-fired hot tubs come with the accommodation. Kayaks, paddleboards, fat bikes, a swimming pool and fynbos trails are all on hand, with lawn games and table tennis for quieter hours. Meals are simple, home-style food at the Clubhouse, in the old Spookhuis or under 400-year-old milkwood trees.
