&Beyond Phinda Vlei Lodge faces a marshy clearing where the sand forest ends, and each of its 6 suites has a deck for watching what comes to the water.
The suites are large at 173 square metres, with a private pool, a sala with loungers, a dressing room and both indoor and outdoor showers. There is no shared pool and no enclosed boma: guests gather at the firepit, the bar or the library instead. Massage treatments are given in the suite. Children need to be 12 or older, and the lodge holds 12 guests at most.
